Three new Directors appointed to Hcéres

Michel Cosnard has appointed Frédérique Sachwald as Director of the Observatory of Science and Technologies (OST), following a proposal by the OST Scientific Steering Committee on Friday 3 June.
On Monday 6 June, the Hcéres Board approved the proposal by Michel Cosnard to appoint Michel Robert to direct the Evaluation of Institutions Department and Annie Vinter to lead the new Evaluation of Territorial Coordinations Department.

Michel ROBERT

Michel Robert holds a PhD in components, signals and systems (1987), and has worked as a Professor at the University of Montpellier since 1991. He has held various responsibilities in teaching and research, including as Director of the I2S doctoral school from 2000 to 2006 and Director of the LIRMM laboratory from 2005 to 2010. More recently, he was President of Montpellier 2 University (Science and Technology) and led the initiative to merge Montpellier Universities 1 and 2, which was completed on 1 January 2015. Since March 2015, he has been working as an adviser to the President of the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) for the scientific evaluation of CNRS. He is an honorary member of the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF).

Michel Robert will take up his post as Director of the Evaluation of Institutions Department on 1 September 2016, succeeding Nadine Lavignotte, who has been Acting Director since October 2015.

Frédérique SACHWALD

Frédérique Sachwald holds a PhD in economic sciences from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences) (1989), and was awarded French accreditation to supervise research in economic sciences at Paris Nord University in 1998. She then headed up economic studies at the French Institute of International Relations (Ifri) from 1999-2006. Later, she joined the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research as Head of the Department for the Promotion of Research and Business Development from 2007-2012, and more recently as Deputy Head of the Innovation, Technology Transfer and Regional Action Department (SITTAR) within the Directorate of Research and Innovation.

Frédérique Sachwald will take over from Ghislaine Filliatreau, who is leaving her post on 30 June 2016.

Annie VINTER

Annie Vinter holds a PhD in psychology from the University of Geneva (1983), and taught psychology firstly at the University of Geneva, then as a Professor at the University of Franche-Comté and Burgundy. She held a variety of teaching and research responsibilities during her time there, including as Director of doctoral schools and programmes. At the University of Burgundy, she was Vice-President for coordination of programmes and research and was responsible for the Burgundy Franche-Comté higher education and research cluster from July 2012 to April 2015. She was Interim President of the Burgundy Franche-Comté Community of Universities and Establishments (COMUE) from April 2015 to April 2016.

Annie Vinter will take up her post as head of the new Evaluation of Territorial Coordinations department on 1 September 2016.
