Michel Cosnard decides to appoint an expert for the evaluation of each mixed research unit (UMR)

From 7 December 2015, a research support staff expert (engineer, technician, administrator) will be appointed to the expert committees that have not yet been filled for evaluation of mixed research units (UMR) (Group B – 2015-2016). This will be extended to all research units for the next evaluation campaign (Group C – 2016-2017).
The expert could be chosen from among the research support staff put forward by staff evaluation bodies in the institutions supervising the research unit, and his/her expenses shall be covered by HCERES. Members of the HCERES Board were informed of this decision at the meeting on 14 December 2015.
Furthermore, if staff evaluation bodies wish, they may all choose to be represented by an observer during the on-site inspection. The observer will attend all public meetings other than closed-door expert committee meetings. Expenses shall then be covered by the supervising institutions.
